Hope Services Selected by Furlong Vision Correction for Gift of Sight Program

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Hope Services will once again benefit from Furlong Vision Correction's (FVC) Gift of Sight program this year, with six of its employees receiving free vision correction services. The program was launched by FVC in 2002 to assist those who can't afford corrective procedures.

"HOPE has an incredible impact in our community. We chose them to be the beneficiary of our program for the second year to support their mission of helping individuals with a broad range of developmental disabilities, including mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism," said Dr. Michael Furlong, Medical Director of FVC. "HOPE's staff is at the core of their programs and we look forward to helping them build a better life without contacts or glasses."

HOPE instructors were chosen by a lottery system and selected based on their ability to sustain eye procedures. Recipients include Judy Tran of San Jose; Marjolaine Bennett, Instructor in Willow Glenn; John Koncoli of Sunnyvale; Ray Navarra of Campbell, Grace Samayoa, of San Jose; and Diana Kinsey of Santa Cruz. Surgeries were performed in August.
