Dr. Michael Furlong of Furlong Vision Correction (FVC) is hosting an accredited seminar on the latest vision correction procedures and treatments. Topics to include the latest technology available for cataract surgery (intraocular lenses), retinal eye diseases, dry eye disease and acquired strabismus (squint/lazy eye) for Bay Area doctors of Optometry to learn about the latest trends and techniques in vision correction for people of all ages - children to adults. ODs receive six hours of credit towards continuing education.

growing baby boomer population and technological advances, refractive vision

About the Speakers:
Dr. Michael Furlong, Medical Director of Furlong Vision Correction. The center was established in 1998. He has performed more than 17,000 LASIK procedures and was one of the first doctors in the nation to perform CK and provide Custom LASIK. He is one of the select few surgeons to offer a full suite of vision correction services, including LASIK, Custom LASIK, PRK (photo-refractive keratectomy), Custom PRK, CK (conductive keratoplasty), RLE (refractive lens exchange), and Cataracts. He graduated from Stanford University and received his MD from University of Hawaii. He is author of several articles and book chapters on refractive surgery.
Dr. Narain is Medical Director of South Bay Retina. Prior to South Bay Retina he served as a vitreo-retinal consultant at Kaiser Bellflower and the Orange County Department of Health and later was a private retinal practice practitioner. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkley and graduated from medical school at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He conducted his residency at the New Jersey Medical School where he completed over 250 diverse ophthalmic procedures as primary surgeon.
Dr. Milton Hom., OD, FAAO - Milton M. Hom OD, FAAO, practices in Azusa, California. He is a Diplomate in Cornea and Contact Lenses and has written over 120 publications and given over 75 invited presentations. He serves on several editorial boards including Review of Optometry, Optometric Management, Primary Care Optometry News, Review of Cornea and Contact Lenses and New OD.
Dr. Hom's latest books are Mosby's Ocular Drug Consult and Manual of Contact Lens Prescribing and Fitting Third Edition (Elsevier).
Dr. Beth Green, Pediatric Ophthalmologist in Los Gatos. She has more than 23 years experience, as is affiliated with the Community Hospital of Los Gatos.
